The season is coming to a close, but we still have to ride by the rules. “Stay on
trails”, is stay on trails and private property is private property. “No ATV” signs
and speed signs must be obeyed. If you can’t obey the rules, don’t ride.

Effective immediately
any roads in the Town of Amboy are closed to ATV’s.
Effective starting January 1, 2010 no new or renewal members riding dirt bikes or
any two wheel vehicles will be accepted as members to our Club. This new rule has
been requested by several of our landowners who have reported abuse to their property
by these vehicles.
The campout was held at Hogsback in Altmar July 18th and 19th. Some people started
arriving as early as Wednesday to get a good parking spot. There were over 80 people
there of all ages. Some people came from as far away as New Jersey and Buffalo.
We had plenty of spots for the campers and 4 wheelers.
Everyone enjoyed talking with each other about their 4 wheelers, the rides they
have had in the past and the rides they want to do in the future. Everyone enjoyed
our trails. We even had a “drive-in movie” in the middle of the lost. We got rained
out Friday night, but tried again Saturday night with more success. You could sit
on your 4 wheeler or bring a chair and watch Clint Eastwood on the huge screen in
the middle of the lot. They had a terrific sound system so you had no problem hearing
the movie. Who would have thought we would be sitting in the middle of the lot on
our 4 wheelers watching a drive-in movie. Talk about progress!
Saturday afternoon everyone got together for a “pass the dish” pot luck dinner.
We had picnic tables set up so everyone could visit while they ate. There was lots
of good food. After the dinner some went for a ride while others chose to relax
and get ready for the movie.
It was a very fun relaxing weekend. It is always fun to be with others who share
your interest. What makes ATV’s so special is that it is a family sport that all
ages can enjoy. Everyone who attended this year’s campout is looking forward to
another campout next year.
