PRESIDENT’S NOTE
“FIRE ON TRAILS”
Sunday, April 20th our club trails near the Play Pen area in
Williamstown, NY were consumed by a devastating fire covering over 50 acres of
four landowner properties. Several
volunteer fire company’s responded to this fire involving many fireman. It has been determined that an
ATV rider was most probably at fault.
Spring and summer are the most vulnerable months for brush fires and
each of us must be very aware of conditions and be very careful not to start
fires with discarded cigarette butts or campfires. We need to keep the trails we have
and we need to respect our landowner property.
We do not want this to happen again.
