The trails are open!

225 club ticket sales are going slow. Half the tickets still remain to be sold. Its very important we sell every ticket this year, because the money raised is going into our Excavator fund for future payment. If you haven't received a packet yet to sell, or would like to purchase a ticket, please contact Brad Hilton at 315-298-3261

October 2005

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is October 15th at 11 am at the Salmon River Inn in Altmar.

"EVENT CORRECTION"

I would like to make a correction to our last newsletter. The All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner sponsored by the Townhouse Restaurant is on Wednesday "October 5, 2005" from 5 to 7 pm, not on October 6th as I stated in our last newsletter. My apologies for this error. Hope to see a good turn out.

President's Note

At our September 17th meeting our Club unanimously voted to buy the Trail Truck for work and maintenance on our trails. This truck will be a tremendous asset to the club and trail workers. The club is buying this truck in three installments, the first one being a substantial down payment to hold the truck for us at the current price, to be delivered in April 2006. At that time we will need to make the second payment. This down payment will deplete our funds considerably so we really need your support to build these funds back up again. The two raffle tickets that are enclosed to every member will help us do that, so "PLEASE" BUY or SELL these two tickets and return the stubs and money in the self-addressed envelopes enclosed no later than April 1, 2006. All checks should be made payable to the club. If you cannot buy or sell these two tickets, PLEASE return them in the enclosed envelope so we can sell them to someone else. We are asking for your help in selling all these tickets. This is one way ALL members can help the club. These trails belong to all of us so lets all do our part. Of course, all Dues, and Donations from our Sponsors will also help tremendously. Anyone wanting more tickets to sell, please contact Don or Nancie Hildreth at 298-4267.

News

Ken Sweeting of K & S Tires, Williamstown, NY has donated a 45' tractor trailer bed to the club for the purpose of housing this new truck. This is a $500.00 donation folks! There is lots of room to store the Trail Truck plus a lot more items under lock & key. We are going to set this up on our newly acquired lot on County Route 22 in Altmar along with our other small storage building.

This will be my last newsletter. I have done them for over three years and with all the Treasurers duties along with the membership, I really need to have someone else take over the newsletter. Nancie Hildreth has agreed to do this for us next year and was accepted by the general membership at our last meeting.

October 15th will be our last general meeting for this year and this will be our last newsletter for this year. We will continue to have our Board Meetings every month and if anything urgent comes up that we need to tell the membership, we will do a newsletter. Many thanks to all the good members who work so hard all year for the club. We should all be proud that this is the biggest club in NYS and we have had many compliments on out trails. Have a nice winter and see you all in the spring!

West Extension Members

Our last meeting this year will be October 11th at the I.O.O.B. Club on Co. Rt. 3 at 7:00 pm.
We would like to give a big thanks to Dick Lukenheimer and his family for hosting our first cook out/campout and hope to have it become an annual event. We had a good turn out and the weather was great. Thanks to all who participated. Have a great Fall and Winter and we'll see you in the Spring!
