The trails are open!

225 club ticket sales are going slow. Half the tickets still remain to be sold. Its very important we sell every ticket this year, because the money raised is going into our Excavator fund for future payment. If you haven't received a packet yet to sell, or would like to purchase a ticket, please contact Brad Hilton at 315-298-3261

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be at Charlie's Happy Valley Inn at 11:00 am on May 14th. Please note this meeting is one week earlier this month due to the conflict with the Benefit Ride on May 21st.
Notice to all who have not renewed their membership... This will be your last newsletter!

President's Note

RALLY!!! Public Hearing with the DEC on May 5th at 5 pm at the Fairgrounds in Syracuse. WE NEED ALL THE PEOPLE WE CAN GET!!! If you don't come to Rally with your club, don't complain if we lose! "NUMBERS COUNT". Load your four-wheeler and come on.
We are leaving the Easy Truck Stop on Rt. 104 at 2:30 pm to go to the meeting in a convoy. We will be taking 1-81 to Bear St. exit, to Rt. 690, off at Solvay exit into Fairgrounds. Join us at any point along the way, or meet us there by 3 30 pm. THIS IS IMPORTANT FELLOW MEMBERS!
We had a very good turn-out for the Legislator's meeting in Oswego on April 14th. Consequently, we got the County Roads opened to us that we wanted. It really does help to come in numbers.

News

First, I would like to extend our sincere apologies to Darrick Hilton for not putting him in our last newsletter as one of the trail coordinators. We certainly appreciate all your help Darrick, but because I do not participate in the actual trail work, I was not aware. Please accept my apology.
Our work season has really gotten into full swing now and we urge anyone who can put in some time, to please call one of our coordinators and schedule a time that you can help. If all our able members schedule a time they can work, it really would make a difference in building trails. This cannot be done by 5 or 6 people alone. It is not all bull work to be done. There are many things the women can help with also. If you can't come for trail work you can help with making signs. Just give us a call, Mary at 298-5444 or Sye at 668-8995. All work details start from Little Lukey's in Altmar.

Comments

As you all know, last month was our election of officers. Jim Barnard has stepped down as Treasurer and Arlene Barnard was appointed and elected. Ron Horning, Board of Directors, has stepped down and Don McAuslan was appointed and elected. Bob Kennedy was appointed as Vice President and elected. The rest of the officers and Board members remains the same. We would just like to say "Nice Job" to Jim and Ron. Your three years of efforts and cooperation is greatly appreciated by all. Also thanks so much to our President, Secretary and other Board members who have worked so hard for us for the past three years.

Events

Our first annual ride is scheduled for May 7th, if conditions permit. We plan to meet at Little Lukey's at 4:30 pm.

TRADESHOW, CRAFTS & FLEA MARKET: We only have a little over a month to go for our First Tradeshow. Lets make this a really good one. Volunteer some time and effort. Contact Steve at 298-3312 or Mary at 298-5444. We would like to set up shifts to work at the show for the two-day event.

As we mentioned last month, there will be a benefit ride on May 21st to help with legal fees for the North Country Clubs who are fighting the DEC in Court to get State trails opened. Cost of ride is $10.00 per person which includes a buffet dinner at Timberview Lodge. Our club will meet in the parking lot at Barnes Corners at 10 am to register. We really need to help in this matter.

Don't forget folks, July is our Lottery month and I am sure most of you have received your tickets by now. So please get them back to Dave Gaffey Jr. as soon as possible. All checks should be made payable to Oswego County ATV Club.

West Extension Members

We just wanted to clarify the fact that if you belong to the Main Club or West Extension, it is all the same club and you are welcome to ride the trails open in either area, or attend the meetings in either area. We are actually all one club.
